Rev. Sidney Williams
Rev. Williams has committed himself to studying the intersection of Theology and Economics. After obtaining a Bachelors of Business Administration from Howard University, Rev. Williams earned a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business in 1994 and then later earned a Masters of Divinity from the Wesley Theological Seminary in 2008. Prior to accepting his call to ordained ministry in 2004, Rev. Williams worked for the leading Wall Street firms in New York City and helped to start several companies.
Rev. Williams has a profound prophetic mantle that distinguishes him as a remarkable visionary who has made a powerful impact in the Faith and Business communities. He has traveled across the world, preaching, lecturing, teaching, encouraging and strengthening the faith of people across the globe from Los Angeles to New York and from the Caribbean to Africa. He has also lectured in graduate business programs and taught corporate executives from Asia, Europe and the United States. His preaching and teaching focuses on empowering both believers and non-believers to work together to make the world a better place for generations to come. Rev. Williams is a frequently requested guest on major news media on issues of faith and economic. Most recently, Fox Business News requested Rev. Williams to respond to the Encyclical Letter from Pope Benedict XVI on Love in Truth - Caritas in Veritate.
In 2005, Rev. Williams founded Ekos Ministries, Inc.(EKOS), in an effort to address the church’s inability to achieve transformation outcomes in a climate of increasingly difficult economic times. EKOS primary focus is to equip leaders of faith communities with the tools and resources required to meet both the physical as well as the spiritual needs of the people they serve. Some of the programs are delivered through seminaries and universities in Africa and the United States.
Rev. Williams accepted the call in 2009 to minister in Capetown, S.A., selling all of their possessions and relocating to minister the Gospel. During this time, he pastored a church located in Hanover Park, Capetown, S.A. This is an economically deprived area with a history of gang warfare. Rev. Williams gave hope again to the congregation, opening the doors seven days a week, instituting revivals, employment and substance abuse training and various other activities to educate and empower the community.
After serving in S. Africa for fifteen months, in November of 2010 he accepted another calling to move to New Jersey to pastor Bethel A.M.E. Church in Morristown.
Rev. Williams is the proud husband of Teresa Williams, and a devoted father to his precious little ladies, Nicole (13), Sarah (12), Hannah Rose(9) and his only son, Sidney III (Wil) (7).
